Child Advocate David Lawrence Jr. to Present Jay Weiss Grand Rounds

David Lawrence Jr. will present Grand Rounds for the Jay Weiss Center for Social Medicine and Health Equity today (Tuesday) at noon in the Rosenstiel Medical Science Building, third-floor auditorium. 

Lawrence, a nationally recognized leader in child advocacy and president of the Early Childhood Initiative Foundation, will present "The Power Within Physicians: Why Isn't it Used More?" During the lecture, the former Miami Herald publisher will discuss the credibility of doctors, what he has learned from 35 years in journalism and 10 years of working for the future of children, how to build a "movement" for children, what "America" really must mean (the lessons of history), why Greater Miami might be truly special, and what role physicians can play.
